Selection and preparation of ingredients
To make an apple drink tasty and healthy, several important factors should be taken into account when choosing and preparing products:
- Apple fruits must be ripe, but firm, as overripe fruits will quickly fall apart and precipitate.
- Any varieties are suitable - you can add sourness to sweet apples in the form of citric acid or sour berries and fruits (lemon, plums, cranberries), you will need to add more sugar or other sweet ingredients to sour ones.
- The fruits must be taken of the same size, the same degree of maturity and cut into identical pieces so that they are cooked at the same time. Small apples are put in whole jars.
- Fruits should be washed well, cleaned from the core with seeds, but it is better to leave the peel - it prevents the pulp from digesting.
- For stewed fruit, even damaged fruits are suitable, but before cooking they need to completely cut off the bad part.
- You can diversify the taste of an apple drink by adding various fruits and berries, as well as spices (cloves, cardamom, vanilla, cinnamon, mint, lemon balm), which are added at the end of cooking.
