Market analysts report that the results of the 2019 harvest season will be significantly lower than last year.
According to preliminary forecasts, the difference will be 16%, which is why the cost of grain in the market will increase significantly. It is noteworthy that the likelihood of price increases worries not only Russian buyers and consumers, but also representatives of the Armenian farming and business sectors.
The fact is that the Russian Federation exports large volumes of grain to Armenia. And if there is a grain shortage in Russian open spaces, then, for example, the cost of feed for Armenian chickens will definitely increase.
The head of the poultry union of Armenia emphasizes that the cost of feed for Russian-made poultry is already increasing in the Armenian market: according to Sergey Stepanyan, 1 kilogram of feed went up by 30 drams (523.88 rubles). The cost of feed is also growing, which leads to higher prices for poultry meat.
It is not superfluous to add that today is chicken meat. Imported from abroad costs to Armenian consumers cheaper than the meat of domestic hens grown on Russian compound feed. The fact that Armenian producers do not use growth hormones in the process of growing birds, and foreign producers often “sin” with such production features, also have an impact on the cheapness of imported chicken.
