According to Rosstat employees, the analysis of the meat market allows us to talk about an increase in the production of such types of red meat as lamb, goat meat, horse meat, as well as pork and beef at the meat processing enterprises of the Russian Federation.
The total mass of red meat in the first quarter of 2019 exceeds 650 thousand tons. It is noted that these volumes exceed the figures of the previous year: for the same period in 2018, Russian butchers procured 10.8% less production.
Analysts in the meat processing industry say that the production of semi-finished meat products, which are sold chilled, is growing literally every week, and since the beginning of the year it increased by 11.8% (up to 830 thousand tons).The production of canned meat is also growing: since the beginning of the year, it has been possible to raise indicators by almost 15% and reach volumes of 138 million cans.
Employees of departments specializing in the collection of statistical data emphasize that against the background of an active increase in the production of red types of meat, a decrease in poultry meat harvests is especially noticeable. The pace of food production from poultry meat of various categories fell by almost 6.5%, which indicates a decrease in volumes of 1.15 million tons.
