Agrarians of the Khmelnitsky region sowed 72.6 thousand ha of winter rape for the harvest of 2019, which is 12 thousand ha more than last year.
This year, Khmelnitsky farmers expect a rapeseed crop at the level of 200 thousand tons, according to the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Khmelnytsky Regional State Administration.
Currently, winter rape in the Khmelnitsky region is in the process of budding and flowering. The condition of the crops is 97% good and satisfactory, and in half of the regions there are no rapeseed crops at all.The interest of agricultural producers in the cultivation of rapeseed is due to the fact that it ripens first and makes it possible to obtain funds for a complex of autumn field work, in particular, sowing winter grain crops next year and harvesting late crops, noted in the relevant department.
Earlier it was reported that this year, Ukrainian farmers have every chance of getting a record rapeseed crop of 3.5 million tons, which is 23% more than the previous year.According to the expert of the oilseed market of Ukragroconsult company Yulia Garkavenko, a high yield will be obtained due to the expansion of sown areas under winter rape and its successful wintering. Agrarians of Ukraine have been expanding their acreage under rapeseed for three consecutive years due to its high margin, which has grown even more during this period.
