In Ukraine, there is a crisis in the market of plant protection products. In the segment of small-scale packaging, this figure reaches 90%, said the deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations, Hryhoriy Zabolotny.

Forged drugs are not only imported from abroad, but also produced by craftsmen in the country. The flow of foreign counterfeit can be stopped in 2 months. In addition, it is necessary to give the right to the State Food and Beverage Service to punish its manufacturers.

According to law enforcement agencies, there is a repackaging of expired pesticides, repeated use of empty containers, falsification of packaging, the return of seized prohibited pesticides to sale, production of counterfeit products from legally imported substances.

The only way to rationally use seized counterfeit plant protection products is to treat them as hazardous chemical waste. The issues of disposal of such substances and punishment of violators require urgent decisions at the legislative level, noted the participants of the round table “Security and quality control and markets of plant protection products”, which was held in Kiev on February 28 this year.
