Translated into money, these figures sound like this: $ 77 million was paid for the fruit that Ukrainians loved. This figure is 7% higher than last season. Not only bananas are in great demand among the population of Ukraine, but also citrus fruits. During the season, the country purchased 265 thousand tons of lemons, tangerines and oranges. And again, this figure exceeds the data of the last season of 2017-2018. It is about 15%. Ukraine paid $ 169 million for the purchase of citrus fruits. In general, the cost of importing exotic fruits increased by 12%.

It was previously reported that Ukrainians increased their consumption of fresh vegetables, fruits and berries out of season. Experts attribute this to the fact that many citizens of the country travel the world and adopt the culinary traditions of warm countries, where many fresh products are used.
