Two households from the Kazatinsky district of the Vinnytsia region that have suffered from African swine fever will be compensated. This was stated on June 6 at a meeting of the regional commission on technological environmental safety and emergency situations regarding the case of African swine fever in the Kazatinsky district.
As the first deputy governor Andrei Gizhko said, farmers will receive compensation for the destroyed livestock of pigs: “Khleborob” JLLC under an insurance contract, and A.V. Kalchuk, private sector - from antiepizootic drugs GU State Food and Beverage Service. The costs of services for animal disinfection and disposal activities will also be compensated.
“I propose that the commission approve the estimate that the district administration submitted on the work carried out on the territory - disinfection, destruction of equipment, burning carcasses and so on. Here we can substitute a shoulder for the affected household. As for a private person, the Head Office of the State Food and Beverage Service in the Vinnitsa region will reimburse the animals for which they had to be destroyed, ”the head of the department Grigory Sidoruk assured.
According to the assumption of veterinarians, cases of ASF are not related to each other, but the source of infection may be common - animal feed or equipment to which they are delivered. And the disease spread due to non-compliance with basic sanitary rules by the owners of animal farms.
“Now the situation is stabilized, measures to localize the disease are ongoing, and upon completion of these activities a forty-day quarantine will be announced,” says Grigory Sidoruk, head of the Main Directorate of the State Food and Beverage Service in the Vinnitsa Region.
Recall, on May 23, the first outbreak of African swine fever was discovered in the Khleborob JLLC (village of Soshanskoye) in the Kazatinsky district. Upon detection of the disease, quarantine was announced. Of the 1038 pigs that were on the farm, 918 were killed.
And already on June 2, in the village of Molotkivtsi, in the same area, but at a fairly considerable distance from the first source of the lesion, about 120 sick pigs were found in the private household during the inspection.
