Today, on August 1, 2019, a ban on the sale of pork was introduced on the territory of the Border District of Primorsky Krai.
It is noteworthy that this ban applies both to the region itself and to its surroundings within a radius of hundreds of kilometers. The reason for the restrictions is the African plague virus, which has infected the local pig population.
It is known that the pigs who lived on a farm near the Sosnovaya Pad Pass auto crossing were the victims of the infection. The fact that pigs were affected by the plague and died as a result of the aggressive effects of ASF was confirmed by representatives of specially equipped veterinary laboratories.
So that the deadly virus does not go further and destroy other farms, the authorities of the Primorsky Territory decided to introduce an emergency regime.
It is noteworthy that in the circumstances of the infection of pigs with the African plague virus today, leading experts of the Center for Animal Health of the Russian Federation in the city of Vladimir are sorted out.
According to preliminary data, pigs from this farm caught the plague as a result of uncontrolled grazing in areas not intended for livestock.
Authorized experts decided to destroy all pigs without exception on the affected farm (seven dozen heads) in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
