According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, to date, farmers in the Smolensk region have managed to procure about one hundred and sixty-four thousand tons of feed - both rough and succulent.
It is noteworthy that this indicator is twenty-seven percent higher than the amount of feed that was procured by the same date in 2018.
It will not be superfluous to note that the share of feed from the category of coarse in the total mass is over one hundred and fifty thousand tons. This includes twenty two and a half thousand tons of hay and one hundred twenty eight thousand tons of hay.
As for succulent feed, here today the result is equal to thirteen thousand tons. And it’s important to add that such an indicator is forty-eight percent more than the volume that was recorded exactly a year ago.
It should also be added that in the current season of fodder harvesting, Smolensk employees of agricultural organizations intend to reach the rate of thirty centners for each animal. At the moment, the volume of collection and harvesting of feed is only twenty percent of the intended amount.
It is worth stopping at the forefront of the fodder sector of the Smolensk region, among which the obvious forwards are representatives of the Kholm-Zhirkovsky district, as well as Velizh and Temkin farmers. Behind them are closely the procurers of the Khislavichi and Vyazemsky districts.
