Over the past week, Ukraine maintained high prices for tomatoes grown in the greenhouse. Market operators say that for two weeks now, Ukrainian households have been experiencing a shortage of supply of greenhouse tomatoes.
At the same time, the number of deliveries of foreign tomatoes is not able to cover the demand of Ukrainian customers.
As a result, in the last days of the previous week, the cost of greenhouse tomatoes in Ukrainian markets increased to $ 1.57 / kg, while last week they were sold at an average of $ 1.04 / kg.
In contrast to tomatoes, the smooth long greenhouse cucumber market set completely different price trends last week. This is due to the fact that the supply of cucumbers from greenhouses has gradually become more and more.
Thus, in Ukraine these products became cheaper and stopped at 0.43 dollars / kg. According to market operators, in contrast to tomatoes grown in a greenhouse, the negative price dynamics in this segment contributed to an increase in the supply of ground cucumber at lower prices.
