Yesterday, in the Kirovograd region, farmers sole farmers blocked the highway "Uman - Kropyvnytsky". The reason is low prices for agricultural products.

“Grain traders are putting us on our knees. The prices of diesel fuel, fertilizers and herbicides, seed have increased, and fell on our products.

They buy from us for a pittance, and export abroad at three or even four times higher prices. Wheat, which was bought from us at 3 thousand each, is exported at 10-12 thousand per ton, ”said Vadim Burchenko, a participant in the action. According to him, grain prices this year and in the past are very different.

“Last year, sunflower was sold at 8,400-8,500 UAH / ton, this year's crop - at 5-4.8 thousand UAH / ton. Last year, soybean was sold at $ 320 per ton, and this year at $ 270-260 per ton. In 2018, 4.5 thousand UAH / ton were bought for corn, in 2019. - 2 thousand UAH / ton, ”said the agrarian.

The initiators noted that the action was not directed against the new government, but to draw its attention to problems in agriculture.

Among the requirements is the regulation at the legislative level of purchase prices for agricultural products, so that farmers do not work at a loss, and grain traders do not profit at their expense.

Another requirement of the protesters is an inventory of agricultural land. The overlap of the highway was suspended and a memorandum of peaceful action was signed on October 4.
