From the first days of this year, Russian purchasers have shown miracles of activity in the acquisition of foreign citrus fruits.
In particular, since January 2019, purchases of lemons grown in the vastness of Turkey have significantly increased. Today we can say that over the past four months about 18 thousand tons of Turkish citrus have been delivered to Russian trading floors.
It is important to note that these figures exceed the supply of Turkish lemons for the same period last year by almost 40%. In other words, a year ago, Russia imported a little less than 14 thousand tons of lemons.
It will not be amiss to note that from January to April of this year, approximately 88.9 thousand tons of fresh vegetables and fruits from abroad entered the Russian market. Russian exporters and foreign importers do not intend to rest on their laurels. Their task is to increase the supply of fresh vegetables and horticulture products of high quality.
In particular, experts from the Black Sea Exporters Association emphasize that in 2019, Turkish suppliers seriously intend to finally establish uninterrupted work with representatives of the Russian customs service and increase exports - not only of citrus fruits, but also of farm products in general.
