The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (ECE) adopted a recommendation regarding the further development of cooperation between the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in the field of vegetable growing.
The recommendations cover three areas of vegetable growing: providing resources, production, mutual trade and export opportunities. Among other tasks noted: the introduction of new, highly productive varieties and hybrids of vegetables bred in the EAEU, as well as the implementation of joint developments in the field of industrial production of bio- and chemical crop protection products.
In addition, it is recommended that EAEU member countries assist in the development of medium-term and long-term forecasts of the production and consumption of the main types of vegetables in the development of relations between producers in order to ensure the wholesale supply of high-quality products, as well as a recommendation to increase the capacity for processing and processing vegetables before selling them.In the field of mutual trade and export, it is recommended to assist in joint projects in the field of infrastructure and logistics, including - the organization and development of Eurasian wholesale distribution centers.
The Commission indicates that the implementation of the recommended measures will provide the population of the EAEU member countries with their own products and improve their competitive ability in world markets.
The EAEU unites the participating states - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia, as well as Moldova as an observer state.
