In 2019, Russia abolished duties on Moldovan imported gastronomic products. From the first days of the new year, fruit and vegetable supplies from the Republic of Moldova, as well as Moldovan wines, canned products and cognac are no longer subject to import tax.
This information was personally shared by the head of Moldova, President Igor Dodon, having published the corresponding text in his profile on social networks.
According to the Moldovan leader, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who had previously discussed this issue with Dodon, should be thanked for canceling the duty.
“It was extremely important for our country to achieve this decision on the part of Russia, because there are a lot of products in our republic, and because of the duty, many distributors could not afford to enter the Russian market. As a result, huge batches of farm products fell into disrepair, as farmers simply did not know what to do with such an abundance of crops, ”emphasize in Moldova. And the president of the republic is convinced that with this decision Russia only strengthened economic relations between the two countries, contributed to the development of Moldovan farms, provided agrarians with jobs and increased the volume of cash receipts to the state treasury of Moldova.
