The farm "Gadz" (Ternopil region) stopped the construction of a processing plant due to high interest rates on loans.
This was reported on the farm website. “We could already build a processing plant, but this year we stopped because loans are at 18.8%, and we are afraid to go too far on credit. Because there must always be a balance: that you can lend someone else and that you can invest your own. Therefore, it is sometimes better to stop for six months, pay off the loan body, and then move forward, ”said Peter Gadz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Buchachagrokhlebprom LLC.
According to him, you can invest only from two sources - from the fact that the farm has earned on the land, or borrowed from a bank. Last year, prices for horticultural products were low, on the verge of cost. “We hope this year will be completely different,” he added.
Recall that in 2019 Gadz planned to launch production of juices, mashed potatoes, jams and marmalade at full capacity. In addition, the company announced plans to develop the production of baby food from fruits and vegetables.
For information, Gadz specializes in growing fruits: apples, pears, plums. The garden covers an area of more than 600 hectares. Apple is exported to more than 20 countries.
The nursery of fruit trees is located on 50 hectares. There is also a fruit storage, a refrigeration and sorting complex with a total area of 5.25 thousand m², a refrigeration complex with an adjustable gas environment with a capacity of 6.5 thousand tons of storage.
