In the country's wholesale markets, there is an increase in the supply of foreign strawberries (strawberries), Info-Shuvar experts report.

The harvest of domestic berries has not yet been received and the entire product on the Ukrainian market is imported. And from mid-March, the cost of imported strawberries began to decline, as large quantities of goods from Spain went on sale.

An intensive decrease in the cost of strawberries is associated with an increase in the quantity of its supply. In past years, in March there were very few strawberries in the markets, as operators very carefully conducted their purchases abroad.

Now the demand for berries outside the season has already been formed, which allows to increase its import. Due to the fall in the price of strawberries, its sales volumes are increasing every day, says the representative of Info-Shuvar Ivan Fedishin.

The peculiarity of this season is that the cost of imported strawberries is less than the price of the first Ukrainian-made berries in 2018. Last year, the sale season for locally grown strawberries was opened on May 5 at the Shuvar ORSP. The berry was worth 135-150 UAH. Today, you can buy high-quality imported berries at a price of 100-130 UAH / kg.
