From April 13 to 26 this year in five regions of two regions of Ukraine, new outbreaks of the spread of dangerous quarantine organisms were registered, as reported by the press service of the State Food and Beverage Service.
These quarantine organisms have a limited distribution in Ukraine. They were found during monitoring and inventory of old foci of such organisms by phytosanitary inspectors.
In particular, in one of the districts of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, potato cancer was recorded on a total area of 1.4 hectares. On the territory of four districts of the Rivne region, experts of the State Food and Beverage Service identified a golden potato nematode on 14.89 hectares of land.These cases of detection of quarantine organisms were recorded by acts of examination to establish a phytosanitary condition. Corresponding orders were issued on the application of phytosanitary measures for their destruction, as well as a procedure was established for moving regulatory objects in quarantine zones and beyond their borders, ”say experts of the State Food and Beverage Service.
Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian customs officers returned to the Netherlands a load of vegetables infected with a quarantine organism. State phytosanitary inspectors identified a potato cancer pathogen in the shipment.
