Wax moth (bee flame) is a pest of bees and lives in beekeeping farms. However, even among beekeepers it is surprising that the results of the vital activity of these butterflies can be used for treatment. Find out what kind of wax moth product is used in traditional medicine, how to cook it and apply it to whom it will be shown.
What is a waste product of wax moth
Wax moth eats bee products. It usually penetrates hives with weak families and guards, often settling in waste from an apiary or in rooms where wax is stored. Having made its way into the middle of the hive, this butterfly lays its eggs right on its combs; emerging larvae begin to consume bee stocks with considerable appetite, damaging brood. Their food - bee bread, honey and wax - are bee products with healing properties.
When they are digested, the wax moth larvae secrete a special enzyme, cerrase, which has therapeutic effects. It is these circumstances that underlie the therapeutic effect of preparations based on wax moth larvae. The enzymes of these caterpillars are able to fight harmful microbes inside the human body. These bioactive substances also contain feces of larvae.In order not to embarrass buyers, product manufacturers gave them another name - ПЖВМ, which completely sounds like "a product of vital activity of a wax moth." Wax moth can be made outside the hive, fed by beekeeping waste. To prepare the drug, larvae are collected, which will soon pupate, or their excrement (PZHVM). Such preparations, along with other beekeeping products, are sold not only by private beekeepers, but also by companies, for example, Zelenchik, PK Elservis, LLC Russian Honey Company, and Zhiva LLC.
Chemical composition
The usefulness of PZHVM has not yet been scientifically proven and its composition has not been fully studied. However, scientists recognize the unique ability of wax moths to digest wax.
Did you know? Thanks to their active enzymes, bee larvae larvae are able to digest even plastic bags. For half a day, one hundred larvae consume 92 g of this substance, forming ethylene glycol.
Laboratory studies also found the following substances in PZHVM:
- flavonoids;
- iridoids;
- steroids.
Therapeutic and beneficial properties
Drugs with PUFV have the following healing effects:
- anti-tuberculosis;
- antibacterial;
- anti-inflammatory;
- healing;
- radioprotective;
- anti-aging;
- immunomodulatory;
- positively affecting the cardiovascular system;
- restoring;
- improves metabolism;
- useful for insomnia;
- helping with low potency and infertility.
Did you know? The properties of enzymes of wax moth caterpillars to resist tuberculosis were studied by I.I. Mechnikov. His first wife Lyudmila Fedorovich died of tuberculosis, and Ilya Ilyich devoted a lot of time to finding a cure for this disease.
An indication for taking tinctures from PZHMV is the presence of the following diseases:
- tuberculosis;
- cardiovascular disease;
- weak immune system;
- fungal diseases;
- infertility.
Varieties of tinctures
To prepare a medicinal product (tincture), two main ingredients are used:
- wax moth larvae themselves;
- their feces.
How to prepare the substance
ПЖВМ is a dark mixture, which is extracted from beehives and placed in a glass jar. For the manufacture of tinctures take 70 percent alcohol. This infusion should stand for 14 days; then it is filtered and poured into a container for storage. The result is a black liquid with a honey smell.
Important! Capacity for ПЖВМ should be from dark glass and sun rays should not fall on it - they will lead to product damage and loss of useful elements.
Application features
When using tinctures and honey with fatty acids, you must adhere to the following rules:
- The product is taken 30–45 minutes before meals. At the same time, it should be stirred until completely dissolved in 50-100 ml of water.
- Reception is performed 1-3 times throughout the day.
- It is required to use tincture or honey with ПЖВМ in courses of 3 months with intervals between them of 2-4 weeks.
- To find out if there is an individual intolerance to such a product, at the beginning, administration is carried out with a dose 2 times less than the recommended one. So take for 7 days. If there are no signs of intolerance to the product, then they switch to a full dosage. But when a rash, runny nose, or breathing problems occur, you need to stop taking it.
The intake rate depends on the total weight and is calculated based on the following ratio per 10 kg of weight:
- For general body strengthening. 2-3 drops of tincture or ½ teaspoon of honey extract are taken 1-2 times a day.
- With intensive sports or in the treatment of fungal diseases. Take 3 drops of tincture or ½ teaspoon of honey extract 1-3 times a day.
- For the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Use 3-4 drops of tincture or ½ – 1 teaspoon of honey extract 2-3 times a day.
- With tuberculosis. 5 drops of tincture are being taken or 1 teaspoon is taken 3 times a day.
Important! The temperature of the drink should not exceed + 30 ° C, as this will lead to a loss of useful properties of the drug.
Contraindications
There are certain contraindications for taking PUZHVM:
- children under 14 years old;
- allergy or intolerance to the drug;
- pregnancy;
- lactation period.
