Prunes and walnuts are part of a wide variety of salads, but they go especially well with chicken breast (fillet) or ham. Hard cheese, chicken eggs and cucumbers will also be a good option to supplement these products, but mayonnaise or sour cream is the standard dressing. How to prepare a delicious and festive salad from these ingredients, and what sequence of actions should be followed at the same time - this will be discussed later.
Selection and preparation of ingredients
There is nothing special in the selection and pre-treatment of the constituent components of the specified salad, because, as in other cases, the standard rules apply: All products should only be fresh and clean. You can not fry the nuts in a pan, but it is advisable to soak the prunes in hot water, and then remove the seeds from it.
Did you know? The first salad dressings - sauce and mayonnaise - appeared only in the XVIII century, and before that, salads (came to us from Ancient Rome) were seasoned with honey, salt and pepper.
Cucumber is either peeled or left, as some housewives believe that in this form the vegetable is even tastier. Chicken eggs should be cooked in advance, so that by the time of mixing all the ingredients they have completely cooled, but the ham or boiled chicken meat does not require any additional processing. Those who like a sharpness in taste should supplement the dish with onions or garlic.
Tender salad recipe with prunes and walnuts
215–20 minutes
- Cut the peeled walnuts into small pieces and pour into a separate bowl.
- Cut steamed pitted prunes into thin strips, also pouring into a prepared bowl.
- Wash the cucumber, wipe with a paper towel and chop it with straws or cubes (at your discretion).
- In the same way, cut the ham so that its individual pieces match the size of the cucumber (in the absence of ham, chicken breast can replace it, and the salad will remain just as tasty).
- Prepare two salad bowls and lay out all the products, starting with the cucumber (it needs to be evenly distributed over the container and a little salt).
- After the cucumber, place the ham in the plates and rub the eggs on it (you do not need to separate the proteins from the yolks).
- On top of the previous ingredients, evenly lay out slices of prunes and squeeze mayonnaise, leaving it slide.
- To decorate over the dressing, pour some more chopped nuts and, without stirring the ingredients, serve the dish to the table. In combination with white mayonnaise, nuts look very attractive, even without the addition of greens.
Important! It is better to mix the individual components of the snack during the feast itself, otherwise the cucumber will empty the juice and the general appearance will be spoiled.
Decorating the described puff salad is as simple as creating it, and to appreciate all the tenderness and attractiveness of the dish, just look at its photo.
